Throughout the morning, Mikaela and I continued to learn about cows, cow comfort and how farmers are increasing the productivity of the animals. We met with Smith outside at an info table, which showed all the components of the cow feed.

Last Saturday, I drove to Stowe for the second day of the first annual Stowe Brewers Festival. The fest sprawled out across a rain-drenched field filled with brewers, cider makers, food carts and lots and lots of beer-thirsty enthusiasts.

Omland was apologetic about the texture, but I assured her I would be fine with drinking a completely liquid version. It might have taken the promise of lattes and fresh gelato, but my appreciation for goats and the farm increased tenfold after this evening.
