UVM Health Network CEO John Brumsted to Retire This Fall

Following a Seven Days investigation into some of these issues at the network's flagship hospital, the UVM Medical Center, state regulators launched a probe looking at health care access across Vermont. A final report is expected to be made public in the coming days.

The largest of those bills comes from the University of Vermont Medical Center, where travel workers have constituted up to 15 percent of the nursing workforce at times. The medical center typically paid travel agencies $75 to $85 an hour before the pandemic but told Seven Days in November that the hourly rates had jumped to between $140 and $185.

The TIF bond passed 11-1, with Councilor Perri Freeman (P-Central District), who is opposed to the TIF financing model, voting no. The capital bond also passed 11-1, with Dieng voting no.
